Claims Adjuster - General Liability

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

 

General Liability Adjuster needed for growing Florida based carrier.  Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 4-5 years of commercial general liability adjusting experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Read, understand and apply policy forms and endorsements, property damage estimates and medical records.
  • Investigate, evaluate and settle bodily injury and property damage claims, applying technical knowledge and skill to effect fair and prompt resolution of the claims.
  • Contact or interview insureds, claimants or witnesses to get additional information.
  • Gather and review official records, including incidents reports, police reports, etc. to determine liability.
  • Search database to obtain background information on claimants such as past claims history, etc.
  • Verify and analyze data used in settling claims to ensure that claims are valid and settlements are made according to company practices and procedures as well as respond to demands in a timely manner.
  • Confer with litigation department on claims requiring litigation.
  • Negotiate claims settlement and recommend litigation when settlements cannot be negotiated.
  • Adjust reserves or provide reserve recommendations to ensure that reserve activities are consistent with corporate policies.

Education & Experience:

  • Some college strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of commercial general liability experience
  • Compliant Claims Adjuster License required
