The Claims Services Assistant provides administrative assistance to the claims department and handles work under the direction of the Claims Services Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assign claims to adjusters and examiners
  • Review requests to reassign claims and updates claim info in Sugar; confirms change with applicable parties
  • Email department heads with sinkhole and liability new claim information daily
  • Review notifications when new claim has invalid email address; notify Call Center management and have them update info
  • Work with Claim Services Support Representatives responding to requests for Certified Copies of Policies (COP)
  • Review claims involving appraisal demands, and proof of loss submitted, send response to applicable parties
  • Process mortgage change requests through CSC for accounting department
  • Process subrogation payments and track on subrogation spreadsheet; examine claims for subrogation reimbursement owed to insured, update reserves, handle releases, and submit to accounting
  • Process payments received from contractors regarding MRP claims and communicate information to MRP Manager and Director of Claims
  • Send copies of recorded statements to outside parties on a CD when needed
  • Process requests for Loss Run information
  • Add Attorneys and Public Adjusters information into Sugar
  • Other duties and administrative projects as assigned
  • May have opportunity to work extended hours providing assistance in the event of a Catastrophe (CAT).

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree preferred; High School diploma required
  • 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry; preferably experience involving homeowner’s claims
  • 620 Florida All-lines Adjuster License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to handle a variety of duties, including tasks that are time sensitive
  • Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
