The Claims Services Assistant provides administrative assistance to the claims department and handles work under the direction of the Claims Services Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assign claims to adjusters and examiners
- Review requests to reassign claims and updates claim info in Sugar; confirms change with applicable parties
- Email department heads with sinkhole and liability new claim information daily
- Review notifications when new claim has invalid email address; notify Call Center management and have them update info
- Work with Claim Services Support Representatives responding to requests for Certified Copies of Policies (COP)
- Review claims involving appraisal demands, and proof of loss submitted, send response to applicable parties
- Process mortgage change requests through CSC for accounting department
- Process subrogation payments and track on subrogation spreadsheet; examine claims for subrogation reimbursement owed to insured, update reserves, handle releases, and submit to accounting
- Process payments received from contractors regarding MRP claims and communicate information to MRP Manager and Director of Claims
- Send copies of recorded statements to outside parties on a CD when needed
- Process requests for Loss Run information
- Add Attorneys and Public Adjusters information into Sugar
- Other duties and administrative projects as assigned
- May have opportunity to work extended hours providing assistance in the event of a Catastrophe (CAT).
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree preferred; High School diploma required
- 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry; preferably experience involving homeowner’s claims
- 620 Florida All-lines Adjuster License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to handle a variety of duties, including tasks that are time sensitive
- Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
