Job Summary: Oversee the claims process by leading and coaching a team of Claims Adjusters.

The supervisor’s performance is based primarily on the results of their unit’s performance in areas such as timeliness of contact and payment, rental costs, salvage returns, overall closing effectiveness and file quality.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties assigned as needed.

  • Hire and mentor claims adjusters and evaluate employee performance against department goals.
  • Recognize and provide training as needed for claims adjusters directly reporting to you.
  • Review file handling for compliance and authority.
  • Maintain diary of pending files and update information to ensure a record of claims with continual review and monitored progress.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Supervise employees in the Claims department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Personal lines adjusting experience preferred.

    Knowledge/Skills

  • Detailed oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to daily changing needs and job duties.
  • Ability to analyze and problem solve, working closely with others to coordinate and complete projects.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of auto repair techniques and multiple estimating systems for reviewing independent adjuster estimates.
  • Must be customer service oriented, highly organized and efficient.
  • Multiple language skills a plus.

Ability to learn multiple software applications

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations TX Adjuster License
