Director of LIFE Underwriting – DC10104

Director of LIFE Underwriting opening in Hawaii. Responsible for the Underwriting, New Business, and Policy Change activities of the individual insurance line of business.  Staff of 5-6.  Analyzes and assesses life insurance risks.  Recommends and implements approved underwriting policies and procedures.  Coordinates underwriting activities between Home Office and the field force.  Generally responsible for ensuring that the Company’s underwriting procedures, systems and controls are aligned to ensure that the risks accepted by the Company are consistent with the pricing assumptions of the underlying product/contract issued. 

Ideal candidate has the opportunity to step into a more Senior level opportunity as well.  Bachelor’s degree in business, management or related field from an accredited college or university; 5+ years of progressively increasing experience in home office life underwriting; 3+ years of leadership experience in the insurance industry required; underwriting experience in a personal producing general agency or brokerage environment is desirable.  Field underwriting experience is desirable.
