Excess Casualty Underwriter
Large insurance company is hiring an Excess Casualty Underwriter in Atlanta. This role will be responsible for marketing and underwriting business within the territory.
Responsibilities include:
- Underwrite middle markets and larger accounts casualty business, with a specific focus on marketing to the wholesale brokerage community
- Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules
- Develop and maintain relationships with different Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business related needs, as appropriate
- Provide guidance to lesser experienced associates
Requirements include:
- 5+ years of commercial casualty underwriting experience
- Demonstrate technical knowledge and skills reflective of progression of positions in increasing responsibility
- Able to travel up to 25% within the assigned territory
- Proficient with Microsoft software products (including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree
- CPCU or other insurance designation is preferred.
