Farm Bureau Financial Services is seeking a strategic focused Risk Management Director with the vision and drive to grow our risk management program. In this role, you will lead the development and research of innovative, distinctive, and cost effective risk management services and tools in order to identify and quantify risk, reduce losses and improve processes and profitability.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead, develop, and maintain a risk management program designed to provide consultative support to client/members, agents, and underwriters.
- Assure the continuous profitable growth of the company by supporting the selection and retention of desirable commercial and agriculture business through consultative support that focuses on risk identification and assessment, risk avoidance and reduction, and risk acceptance and transfer.
- Serve as a consultant for client/member’s in maintaining a safe working environment with a benefit of improving their future loss ratio.
- Work with underwriters and claims staff to provide expertise and resources around various risk factors related to new policies, renewals, and/or the payment or denial of claims.
- Provide timely, professional reports to underwriters, claims staff, and management in order to assist in risk selection, pricing, retention of profitable business and providing better claim service.
- Oversee all staff development aspects including selection, training/development, disciplining/performance review, salary administration, referring employee complaints, controlling workflow, motivation of employees, and assigned budget activities.
What It Takes To Join Our Team:
- Four-year college degree or equivalent, plus seven years related experience, with a minimum of 5 years risk management, loss control or safety experience.
- Certified Safety Professional (CPM), or comparable designation preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship building skills are a must in order to succeed in this role.
- Demonstrated experience with projects in risk management, business, or strategic planning.
- Demonstrated ability to work with others, build teams and be an influential, persuasive and decisive leader.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Effective change agent abilities including ability to lead change and manage projects.
- Ability to travel to our eight state region up to 25% of the time.
