Under the general direction of the Vice President - Business Insurance Advantage, the BIA Business Development Specialist is directly responsible for training, coaching and mentoring SIAA member agencies participating in the Business Insurance Advantage program which is designed to increase commercial lines insurance production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Agency BIA Training: Using the Business Insurance Advantage Program, work with member agencies to grow and develop commercial lines through education and opportunities.

  1. Maintain a fixed schedule of training class starts throughout the year (every 90 days)
  2. Keeping members on schedule while delivering 13-week training and mentoring sessions
  3. Maintain accurate records
  4. Keep stakeholders informed during and after the training process
  5. Coordinate weekly mentoring calls with participating members
  6. Be the expert on Business Insurance Advantage and its components
  7. Maintain a progress report for executive management
  8. Promote other SIAA services
  9. Work collaboratively with others (internally and externally) to achieve common objectives, goals and results
  10. Other duties as directed

Job Type: Full-time

Required Experience

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Commercial Lines Insurance. 

Property and casualty insurance company, wholesale insurance, and/or agency experience required.  Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.  Must have ability to communicate effectively one–on-one and to larger groups via multiple mediums.
