Successful Property & Casualty Insurance carrier is seeking a dynamic Chief Operations Officer with proven capability to design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures, and to establish policies that promote company culture and vision.

The Chief Operations Officer serves as the principal deputy and senior adviser to the Executive Director of Maryland Auto Insurance. The Chief Operations Officer assists the Executive Director in formulating and implementing the company’s mission, initiatives and policies; is a pro-active problem solver; shares responsibility for the company’s overall performance; supervises the company’s senior management team; and provides general supervision and direction to all elements of the company.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to:

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and senior staff to develop the company’s strategic plan and oversee its implementation.
  • Engage across operations to ensure there are processes in place to meet financial and performance goals.
  • Provide managerial supervision and general direction to senior management.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and internal communications with staff.
  • Advise Executive Director on current trends and issues in the insurance industry.

Qualified candidates will have a professional history of progressively responsible experience culminating in a leadership role overseeing operations. Minimum of twelve years of experience in the insurance industry, including at least seven years of upper management experience. Must possess experience in financial management.  Advanced college degrees preferred.
