Claims Lead, Commercial Auto

CapSpecialty seeks a dynamic, versatile claims professional to add to its experienced, team-oriented staff and be part of a growing line of business. This claims professional will be responsible for all commercial auto claims.  In addition to investigating, evaluating and resolving first and third party claims (both property damage and bodily injury) across the country, the ideal candidate will develop a process for the efficient handling of the auto claims including vendor selection, data management, and possible oversight of future additions to staff.  The candidate will also be expected to support underwriters in improving risk assessment and selection.

The ideal candidate will possess many of the following characteristics:

• Advanced technical knowledge of insurance coverage and policies, insurance law, tort law, and claims handling practices for auto claims, as well as familiarity with the auto laws of various states.
• Highly refined verbal and written communications skills
• A proven track record of delivering solid claim outcomes on auto claims. 
• Ability to multi-task and seamlessly maneuver issues from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
• Forward-thinking capability, including the ability to formulate a strategy and proactively move a claim toward resolution.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent, a current adjuster license, and 10 years of claims handling experience is required including at least five years of handling commercial auto claims. Law degree (J.D.) and/or insurance certifications are desirable.
