Underwriting Consultant - Group Benefits; New York, NY

Outstanding opportunity with Top 10 National Broker for a Senior Group Benefits Underwriting Consultant to work with middle-market clients.

This position will deal with the financial aspects of benefit planning, including all types of funding arrangements, plan design strategies, competitive benchmarking analyses, and employee contribution modeling. Position will also oversee the renewal process, provide monthly reporting between clients and carriers, prepare financial exhibits and commentary for client presentations, and support the new business and renewal quoting process for the team.

We are looking for

• 3-5 years of experience dealing with various funding types (fully-insured, self-funded, minimum premium) and an advanced knowledge of insurance products, bid specifications and financial analysis/underwriting.
  • Products include HMO, PPO, and Indemnity forms of Health, Dental, and Vision plans, consumer-driven healthcare, well ness, disease management, etc.
• Also, must have a familiarity of regulatory environment of employee benefits plans,
• Prefer some consulting and/or brokerage experience but may consider someone from a carrier if they have had strong client-facing skills.
