The Claims department within IAT has an immediate opening for a Commercial Transportation Claims Manager that can be located in our Scottsdale, Arizona or Pasadena, California location.  This role will be tasked within establishing and leading IAT’s west coast claims operations for our tucking clients.                    

The primary responsibilities are below:

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all claims are managed in compliance with regulatory requirements and company guidelines.
  • Oversee all processes and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Provide ongoing training, mentoring and guidance to staff.
  • Oversee lawsuits to ensure proper handling within department guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain critical relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate responses to inquiries from regulators and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that any investigation /settlement /reserve/coverage matter is appropriately managed.
  • Administer all staff performance reviews.
  • Travel as needed to attend meetings.
  • Work with the VP of Claims on various matters.
  • Supervise 4-10 Claims adjusters.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree with 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience is defined as 10+ years of commercial transportation and trucking claims experience.
  • Equivalent is defined as 14+ years of commercial transportation and trucking claims experience.
  • Must have 5+ years of management experience.
  • Must have negotiation experience.
  • Must have Subrogation experience.
  • Must have strong Litigation Management skills.
  • In depth knowledge of California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington regulations and case law is strongly preferred.
  • Insurance designations such as AIC, ARM, CPCU preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate internally and externally.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be a team lead.
