Basic FunctionProvides expert opinions, evaluations and assessments of matters related to Construction Management of Metro major rail and bus facilities projects based on current industry best practices for the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Audit Unit and Investigation Unit.

Example Of DutiesPerforms research to determine current major capital construction project management best practicesMaintains familiarity with the status of Metro major capital construction projectsReviews and analyzes Metro construction project management related reports and documents, and provides a written briefing and/or summary to OIG Audit Unit and Investigation Unit to facilitate an understanding of studies and investigationsCritically reviews Metro capital construction management policies and procedures to determine whether they are in line with current industry best practicesDevelops survey instrument(s) and/or performs interviews to obtain construction project management informationInvestigates, monitors, oversees, and evaluates Metro capital construction projectsPerforms benchmarking to determine best practices of comparable agenciesProvides recommendations to improve and/or enhance Metro capital construction management practicesWorks with Auditors and Investigators to evaluate and investigate matters related to Metro capital construction projectsAttends capital construction related Metro and community meetings and events to obtain insights about project progress, issues, and concernsConducts site audits and inspectionsMonitors communication and implementation of Metro safety rules, policies, and procedures in support of the agency s safety vision and goals;
