Pricing Actuary

The IAT Actuarial Department has an immediate opening for a Pricing Actuary in our Cheshire, CT location.  This reports to the Vice Present, Actuary and is responsible for providing actuarial pricing support for the Programs and Assumed Reinsurance Divisions.  The main objective for this position is to help manage much of the regular core day-to-day actuarial requests

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide dedicated support to the VP, Actuary.
• Perform program, treaty and individual account pricing (including simulations of difficult coverages and risks).
• Business monitoring.
• Development of various models and tools.
• Reserving and financial reporting support.
• Rate filing/product development support.
• Provide analytics where possible.
• Development of an actuarial data reporting system (particularly with new program accounts).
• Working with other actuaries and financial team members within IAT.
• Occasional travel as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ degree with 2+ years of relevant actuarial experience.
• ACAS is preferred.
• Exposure to reinsurance, large account pricing and/or actuarial model building is preferred.
• Solid computer skills are a must.
• Must be able to work in VBA, MS Access, and SQL.
• Must have Strong verbal and written communication.
• Must be able to work within a team environment.
• Must have flexibility to changing workload and challenges.
• Must be able to work extra hours during busy periods.
• Must be able to travel as the business requires.
