Care Health Plan is looking for an experienced Actuarial Manager.
DUTIESResponsible for the overall management and oversight of staff where activities are concerned with identifying and solving financial, healthcare cost/revenue or actuarial problems involved in a subset or segment as they pertain to company, industry, and regulatory practices.
monitor and evaluates new product ideas, and pricing/maintenance of existing products with a focus on growth of the product line.
Valuation/reserving to include analyzing claims and loss experience to test reserve adequacy and strengthen product line financials.
Also may include: cash flow analysis, income projections, strategic assessment; and may include administrative responsibilities such as marketing support, systems, human resources and departmental budget.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSEDUCATIONRequired: Bachelor's Degree in Finance,, Economics, Statistics, Accounting or other quantitative background.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONSPreferred: CPAEXPERIENCEMinimum of five to seven years of health care data analysis experience with two years of lead / supervisory experience.
Analytical programming experience (use of Excel, Access, and other Business Intelligence tools).
Understanding of health care cost structures (fee schedules, health care cost categories, and health care utilization codes.
Requires significantly complex decision-making.
Provides oversight/works on issues of diverse factors including an understanding of current and projected functional trends.
Understands the impact of process, policy, and technological changes on the functional area.
Preferred: Current or prior experience with managed health care plans, especially experience with Accounting or Actuarial analysis and 4-8 years experience managing analysts.
