We have an opening for an experienced Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster to work out of our Bloomington, MN office.
DESCRIPTION:
In this role you will provide and ensure accurate and timely management of lost time, high risk and catastrophic workers’ compensation claims. You will be in charge of working towards resolution and closure while providing superior service to our customers.
The successful candidate will have experience with lost time, high risk, and catastrophic claim management along with litigation, claim settlement and claims resolution experience. Prior experience calculating workers’ compensation benefits, setting appropriate reserves and effectively communicating with and mentoring team members are important in this role.
REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent computer, communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organization skills are necessary. Minnesota adjustor licensure, as required by jurisdiction, is also required within six months of hire. Multi-state experience is a plus.
Qualified applicants should possess a minimum three years workers’ compensation claims adjusting experience in a senior level role. A high school diploma is required; post secondary experience is highly preferred.
You should have knowledge of: basic legal and medical terminology, workers’ compensation law and statutory requirements, state workers’ compensation forms, benefit payment procedures, claims investigation and liability determination.
Communication: Professional oral and written communication skills are critical to the success of this position. All claims service must be handled with tact, diplomacy and courtesy at all times. Must create documents that are technically correct and in compliance with State Auto’s guidelines.
Collaboration: Must be able to collaborate and develop strong team relationships with associates from within and outside the Claims Department.
Technical Knowledge: Must have the ability to read and understand complex documents such as medical reports, contracts and other legal documents.
