Wright Risk Management Company, LLC is seeking an exceptional Supervisor to join our Uniondale, NY office and manage the Workers’ Compensation claims unit, within specific limits and authority.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises investigation of incoming claims, including setting specific timelines for adjusters’ completion and documentation of 2 point contacts
  • Sets goals and timelines for submission of required WCB forms including initial FROI and follow up SROI forms, monitors unit performance and keeps FROI/SROI submission penalties to an absolute minimum
  • Keeps an electronic case diary for complex and/or highly reserved claims, and provides coaching to the adjusters on cost control methods and closure strategies on these files; also monitors electronic diary usage of adjusters
  • Approves reserves on all claims that reach $100,000.00 in combined Medical & Indemnity
  • Obtains and Reviews monthly reports regarding adjuster caseload  levels, incoming claim levels, and case closures
  • Monitors performance of adjusters & provides yearly evaluations of each adjuster along with recommendations for possible raises, bonuses and promotions
  • Arranges and performs interviews of applicants for vacant adjuster positions and makes hiring recommendations
  • Provides quarterly reports to upper management that show unit statistical information, major account servicing activities and program charges
  • Interacts  positively with clients and brokers in responding to inquiries, complaints or other issues that may arise regarding specific claims
  • Works with Excess Claim Coordinator to ensure timely reporting of appropriate claims to Excess Carrier
  • Reviews and evaluates performance of investigative, legal and medical vendors

 

Required Competencies:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects under strict time deadlines
  • Excellent verbal & writing skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • New York State License is required or obtained within 6 months of employment
  • High Degree of Claims IT systems knowledge
  • Ability to motivate and lead a group of trained  professionals

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from 4 Year College/University
  • Current New York State Adjusters License
