Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Performance Improvement Manager, based out of our White Plains, NY office. This position will be responsible for data analytics, system and technology assessment, as well as driving positive member and partner results around Claims and Risk Management process enhancements. The position reports directly to the Director of Performance Improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Data Analytics: Analyze claims data to identify loss trends, risk management opportunities, expense management opportunities and claims handling improvements. Specifically write SQL queries against the ClaimCenter database and the data warehouse to produce ad hoc reports. Summarize findings and make recommendations to the claims and risk management leadership team.
  • Claim System Optimization- Assess use of Guidewire ClaimCenter, to determine how we best optimize the system to meet business and data needs.  Continually assess usage and performance; propose and work with IT on system design changes. Implement process changes to improve overall department performance.
  • Strategic Direction – Support the EVP of Claims and Risk Management and the Director of Performance Improvement in developing formulating and executing strategic initiatives that will improve departmental effectiveness and support PURE’ S growth and reputation.
  • Technology –Research new innovations in the industry and propose future technology projects to drive improved department performance for auto and home.
  • Quality Assessment-Participation in ongoing quality reviews in Claim and Risk Management both to provide a benchmark on performance as well as to provide a measure for performance on an individual basis. Propose and design changes to practices to improve overall department performance.  Drive efficiency in the Claim and Risk Management Departments.
  • Training–Conduct needs assessment for new and existing staff. Develop, schedule, deliver training for claims team.

Position Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Guidewire ClaimCenter is required
  • Ability to write PL/SQL queries to extract data from databases
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel ex. pivot tables, joining disparate data sets
  • 2-5 years professional experience within Claims in the Property and Casualty lines and Risk Management.
  • 2-5 years’ experience of successful management of a Claims practice and function.
  • Experience in training
  • Experience in formulating and executing strategic initiatives.
  • Prior exposure within the High Net worth marketplace is preferred.
  • Proficiency in various Claims and Risk Management technology and analytical tools and techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, exhibit team spirit and enthusiasm, and establish trust and credibility.
  • Agile learner who can quickly absorb information and apply it to current business situations.
  • Must be highly detailed and organized, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks and assuring consistently high levels of accuracy.
