Auto Damage Specialist- West Coast
Summary

The Auto Damage Specialist is a key member of the Claims team based out of our Scottsdale, AZ office or remotley out of their home on the West coast reporting to the Performance Improvement Manager. The primary goal of this position is to review and provide technical counsel on all aspects of vehicle appraisals and repair.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review vehicle appraisals to ensure proper compliance with statutory guidelines as well as PURE’s auto appraisal standards.
- Provide claims department with expert advice on all aspects of vehicle repair, estimates, vehicle valuations and total loss determinations.
- Review estimates on subrogation files to ensure recovery and proper payment.
- Report on key metrics as requested by management.
- Willingness to respond to catastrophe events
- May assist in the training of internal staff, independent appraisers, and direct repair shops.
- Aid in the further development of PURE’s direct repair network
- May complete re-inspections, as needed
- Other duties and activities as requested by your manager
- Must work well in a rapid growth environment and ability to adapt rapidly to change.
Position Requirements
- 10+ years of auto appraisal experience.
- 2+ years of auto damage claim handling experience
- 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience desirable.
- Outstanding technical claims skills and subject matter expertise.
- Knowledge of automated claim appraisal systems and overall claim operations
- I-Car Platinum Individual.
- ASE B-6 Certification for “Damage Analysis & Estimating” (or willingness to pursue)
- Strong competency with specialty and exotic vehicles.
- Thorough understanding of automobile terminology, construction and repair.
- State adjuster licenses, auto appraiser licenses and CE credits must be maintained as required by state regulations.
- Strong relationship management and customer services skills. Excellent interpersonal, listening, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail, analytical and solid problem solving skills; proficient in excel, word, web
- Ability to demonstrate integrity, exhibit team spirit and enthusiasm, and establish trust and
- Agile learner who can quickly absorb information and apply it to current business situations.
- CPCU designation (or the willingness to pursue).
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Travel as needed for meetings, training, and other job related activities.
