JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Director of Compliance

REPORTS TO: COO

LOCATION: Plantation, FL - will consider remote work options for the right candidate.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), the largest and rapidly growing professional association in the insurance industry, is looking for a new Director of Compliance to join our team. This newly created role will be responsible for the overall content development for the Universal Claims Certification (UCC) precertification course, exam, and continuing education protocols and ongoing compliance. Will interface with all levels of the organization, internal and external, to achieve CLM’s UCC initiative.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee overall content development for UCC precertification course and exam.
  • Create compliance protocols for UCC department for review and approval of UCC certification, continuing education approvals, and biannual renewal.
  • Interact with various state departments of insurance to secure precertification course and exam approvals, as well as UCC CE reporting.
  • Oversee work of Compliance Specialists in review and approval of submitted educational program materials.
  • Stay informed about overall industry news and trends.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum five to 10 years of experience in the property/casualty insurance industry.
  • Experience with insurance industry compliance and/or regulation.
  • Experience managing staff.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general office technology.
  • Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Must possess strong people skills and the ability to communicate throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and able to work with a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines and strong ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel for local and out-of-state company-hosted conferences and events, as needed.
