We believe in respect, that you earn it and give it, by open communication and collaboration.What the Accounting Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis doesOversees timely and accurate monthly financial reporting delivered to departments, including preparing comparative and activity reports, assisting with financial presentations and annual reporting requirements on a monthly and ad hoc basis.Analyzes monthly financial results in comparison to established budget, investigates any significant variances, irregular and unusual transactions and takes corrective action as needed. Performs in-depth monthly variance analysis.Manages Annual Budget including: development of processes and timeline; training of staff on the execution; analyzing the budget for overall strategic objectives and goals of AGU; making and tracking adjustments as needed.Implements and works with business intelligence tools to provide dashboard reporting metricsCollaborates and develops strong working relationships with other departments to ensure their needs and the organization s needs are met while promoting a culture of high performance quality customer service.Assists with new hire Finance Orientation and Finance onboarding and off boarding procedures.Maintains contract management system including: new vendor verification, ensuring new contracts and proposals are properly entered into contract database and securely maintained.Other duties as assigned.What the Accounting Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis brings to the teamBachelor s degree in finance, business or related field with 6+ years of related professional experience in non-profits, associations and/or for-profit organizations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience in managing budget, and demonstrated ability to work within approved budget.Experience in a scientific, knowledge-based or technical setting is a plus, but not required.Proven track record and solid experience with financial analysis and reporting.Ability to exercise independent judgment and to meet deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions.Possess an excellent facility with numbers.Ability to handle complex technical information and prioritize assignments, set goals, and work independently as well as in a group.Demonstrated ability to translate strategic intent into program plans and tactics.Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality.Ability to negotiate and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organization (both inside and outside the organization).Strong attention to detail.High degree of professionalism and accuracy.Excellent communication skills (with a high degree of diplomacy) are essential, as is excellent follow-through on tasks.Proficiency with Microsoft suite of products, with focus on Excel and PowerPoint.Demonstrated discretion on confidential matters.For consideration, please submit your cover letter and resume toThe successful candidate for this position will be subject to a pre-employment background check.AGU proudly offers a casual work environment, excellent compensation, generous work-life opportunities, and an outstanding benefits package.AGU is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
