The Opportunity: 5 Partner firm with elite backgrounds from the world s most reputable hedge funds have founded a Systematic Global Macro firm based in Miami, Florida. All major service providers (Prime Broker, Fund Administrator, Legal, etc) have been retained. The aim of this job posting is to meet and build a relationship with a future life-long equity partner who is specialized in CFO/Fund Controller/Accounting duties. We re a highly collaborative, direct, and supportive team and are looking for the same type of individual to join us. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. The role will cover general accounting & reporting, treasury & cash management, and corporate finance work. About us: We see Trading, Sales, and Operations as the three equal pillars of a world-class hedge fund. Our CIO and Chief Quantitative Scientist combined have 30+ years experience building and running their own proprietary investment strategies at two of the world s elite hedge funds. Our Investor Relations team has built successful Sales engines and raised nearly $4B over the past 20 years for various start-ups and complex investment strategies. Our Operations Partner has built lean start-up teams, holds a background in International Securities Law and has served as Director of Investment Operations of a $700m AuM firm. What we re looking for: An individual who is highly motivated, calm, disciplined, and entrepreneurial, who will take ownership of the Finance, Fund Controller, and Accounting functions. You will work side-by-side with the Operations Partner. This person will initially focus on a) establishing and leading trade reconciliation and fund accounting as well as b) establishing the firm s financial systems for accounting, expense tracking, invoices, and internal reporting. In the mid-term this individual will eventually delegate expense reporting, payroll, and other foundational accounting obligations to his/her support staff. Specific skills and experienced required: Willingness to relocate to Miami. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. CPA preferred. 5+ years as a Fund Controller and Accountant at a top investment management firm. Supporting fund administration, including asset and cash reconciliations. Conduct trade reconciliation and produce daily risk reports. Prepare and present quarterly budgets and forecasts, as well as monthly financial updates to the Partners. Experience with futures markets, their settlement procedures, as well as equities, corporate actions etc. Oversee asset and cash reconciliations performed by third party service provider. Establish and operate company financial systems for payroll, accounting and expense tracking (Gusto, QuickBooks, Expensify, and ) with support from the Operations Partner. Coordinate year-end tax filings for both the company and the Partners Assist in the coordination of the year-end shareholder tax reporting process. Oversee the accuracy of fund expenses and expense related disclosures CFO/Controller/Accountant for an elite systematic start-up hedge fund in Miami. 5+ years experience.
