This managerial position will lead and/or independently implement a portfolio of initiatives to support pricing, medical trend and revenue analytics for Tufts Health Plan Senior Products and will have one or more direct reporting staff. This position will require mentoring and training of staff will support recruiting and development activities for the entire actuarial department.Specific project assignments for this position will include some or all of the following: annual development of the Part C Medicare Bids, support of the Part D Bids, Part C and Part D portfolio analysis, medical and pharmacy product management support, financial planning and projections, trend analysis, product development, and Retiree Drug Subsidy calculations. This role will work closely with a variety of THP departments including Product Management, Medical Management, Finance, Contracting, Underwriting, and Sales.An understanding of the health insurance industry, strong interpersonal skills and technical proficiency in relational databases, data warehouses, Excel and statistical modeling are required.Managerial Responsibilities* Recruits, trains, develops and supervises analyst-level staff through direct or matrix reporting.Planning, Design, Project/Process Management* Independently executes and/or oversees a portfolio of closely related projects or analytics* Manages all processes including the identification of objectives, scope and deliverables, as well as communication of issues and resultsTechnical Analysis* Uses THP data systems and query tools to complete work projects, developing new code and tools to meet objectives* Designs and builds technical processes to address business issues* Provides input into and/or help structure program code for more junior staff* Oversees the technical work of othersChecking/Validation/Peer Review* Develops criteria to validate results in light of prior expectations.
