General Summary:

Directs and oversees all the financial activities of the company including preparation of current financial reports as well as summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directs the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to the Board of Directors, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees accounting department, budget preparation and audit functions. 
  • Ensures compliance with local, state and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
  • Oversees the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure and position control documents, and department budgets.
  • Coordinates the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and information reports.
  • Analyzes financial statements to determine potential weak areas.
  • Ensures records systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
  • Confers with president and general manager to coordinate and prioritize planning.
  • Provides overall direction for the management of all Company owned properties.
  • Responsible for directing the organization’s overall financial policies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent business experience, CPA designation, Tax experience and 5 years of insurance experience preferred but not required.   
  • Eight to ten years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.  Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.   
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.   
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to communicate clearly, timely, and accurately.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships at the Executive level and within the Accounting/Finance Department.       
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Payroll Software, Accounting software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software, General Ledger and Word Processing software, Excel and knowledge of federal and state law and requirements within the department and the Company.
