Job Summary (Primary purpose of this Role): This is a key role within the Sales Training and Development team and we are looking for someone with the knowledge and passion to design and deliver engaging and effective content. This individual will implement tactics to provide training and development support for building expertise in leadership, capital markets, professional development, technology, and additional areas of expertise for business consultants, internal business consultants, and business development specialists. As part of this, the Program Manager will build strong relationships with Distribution staff while collaborating with subject matter experts from other areas within the JH Investments division. The diversity of the audiences we support will require the successful candidate to be proficient with all aspects of the content development. Additionally, they need to be comfortable with a variety of delivery methods, and be able to work with the team to develop success metrics for every initiative. He or she will need to be self-motivated, resourceful and thrive in a rapidly changing environment. Our ideal candidate will have deep experience in training& development but also be fluent with the sales experience. The successful candidate must have a strong capacity for collaborating, training and influencing stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Key Accountabilities:Conduct formal needs analysis to identify, define and prioritize training needs by traveling and consulting with business consultants, divisional management (internal and external), and internal business consultants. Lead efforts to develop and implement new sales positioning materials to simplify and solidify JH Investments message to the field by working effectively with Sales, Product, and Marketing. Develop all internal and external sales professionals through one on one engagements, instructor led classes, live field travel Work with divisional management to implement best practices in the field for business planning, consultative selling, territory management, advisor profiling Design training solutions that meet the needs of the audience, writing and editing content; testing solutions for readiness and usability Analyze assessments, evaluations and reports to determine trends and respond with follow-up training/information where required. Identify and troubleshoot moderate to complex problems Prepare new sales representatives (both internal and external) as well as new hires to JH Investments assisting with the onboarding process Job Requirement:5-7 years proven experience in performance consulting, program design and training& development Background in financial services experience, preferably in investments/asset management and sales a plus Knowledge of, and the ability to apply adult learning principles Ability to think critically and ask targeted questions to determine needs and respond appropriately Experience with multiple delivery methods, including e-learning initiatives Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational, influence and interpersonal skills 1-2 years' experience in a training or classroom environment preferred University/College degree in an education-related field (B.Ed, Adult Education or equivalent) preferred About John Hancock Financial and ManulifeJohn Hancock Financial is a division of Manulife, a leading Canada-based financial services group with principal operations in Asia, Canada and the United States.
