Actuarial Services Director

Newly created position! Our client provides health insurance solutions for the under-insured and uninsured, and through specialty services. Our client is a firm believer in focusing on the whole health of a person. We are in search of a Director of Actuarial Services to conduct analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate financial outcomes. You will be providing expertise and technical support for the successful and financially sound operations of our client's health plan business. Minimum of 10 years actuarial experience, including 2+ years of Medicaid experience. Previous management experience including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of staff required. Our client offers a generous competitive 6 figure salary based on years of experience. This position also comes with a performance bonus structure offering 20% or higher. Here is what you will be DOING: Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes. Negotiate capitation rates with State agencies. Review health plan experience and identify trends Analyze new business opportunities. Work with Health Plans to ensure soundness of capitation rates Work with State agencies to assess impact of program/policy changes. Present results to Senior Management/State agencies. A Bachelor's degree is required in a related healthcare field.
