The Vice President Marketing will provide a welcome breath of fresh to an agency’s marketing department that has grown stagnant over the past few years. As sometimes is the case, marketing became a transaction with the team only looking at submissions from an ‘A to B lens’ without a step back to see improvements to the bigger picture.
You’re coming in at the leadership level working closely with the VP of Sales to turn the marketing into a critical weapon in competing for new business and increasing the agency’s buying power in the market. Examples of such include:
- Manage Contingencies: Negotiating contracts, terms and special program advantages
- Guide the Placement Process: Teach producers and account managers what to sell on, ways to improve the submission process and leveraging technology.
- Augment systems, processes and operational efficiencies
- Exemplify the “doer” mentality: direct, hands-on work with placing new and renewal accounts. Build marketing resources. Hiring staff.
- Measure success: Analyze and report data for in-progress accounts, carrier utilization, quote to bind turnaround, hit ratios and retention.
To be considered you must...
- Offer detailed experience in commercial insurance marketing, underwriting or brokerage placement.
- Have an “in the weeds” ability to manage middle market property and casualty placement.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, underwriters, prospects and internal sales/service teams.
