Controller- Construction/Manufacturing

We are looking for an experienced financial management professional to ensure the integrity of financial reporting for $25M Design, Build Manufacturing & Construction firm.

Position Duties

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and appropriate management reports
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring the timely recording and collections of the company’s revenues and the appropriate management of the firm’s expenses.
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Oversee the company’s payroll procedure
  • Coordinate with outside tax professionals to ensure timely filing and remittance of all federal, state, and local tax requirements.
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the firm leadership; continuously collaborate with leadership to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.

Desired Skills\Education:

Minimum 5 years of experience managing the production of financial statements in a private arena outside of public accounting and 2 years of experience with direct staff supervision.

MUST have experience managing and administering Timberline/Sage accounting software or a similar construction accounting software.

Experience in a construction or professional services related industry helpful.

Thorough knowledge of job cost and accounting procedures and principles

Accuracy and attention to detail

Strong organizational and time management skills

Required experience:

BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related fields

Managing production of financial statements: 3-5 years

Direct Staff Supervision: 3 years
