CPC is seeking aPeer Support Staffwho willwork alongside our multidisciplinary team which delivers high quality, evidenceinformed, and community-based behavioral healthcare services to our clients. The Peer Support Staff professional will provide support to adult clients who have a mental illness and chemical dependency treatment needs. Model coping skills towards recovery, provide assistance to the clinical team in socialization and recreational activities, advocacy, and in crisis stabilization. Job Requirements: Self-identify as a current or former consumer of mental health or co-occurring disorder services. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of what recovery means, be well grounded in own recovery for at least one year. Be willing to share personal recovery story and be able to articulate what has helped in own recovery. Must become a Certified Peer Support* within one year of hire. Have or obtain a counselor registration from the Department of Health. Any job offer will be contingent upon the results of an updated background investigation. *Peer Support Certification ProcessComplete a minimum of 40 hours of specialized training that is provided, approved, or contracted by the Washington State Mental Health Division. Successfully pass a combination written and oral examination administered by the Washington State Mental Health Division. Registration: As noted above, youmust have, or obtain, a Washington state Department of Health counselorregistration, certification, or license prior to beginning work.
