Job Summary:

The Leesburg, FL office of Brown & Brown is seeking an exceptional individual with proven discipline, drive, and commitment who specializes in Commercial Lines Property and Casualty Sales. Our new team member will be highly competitive and skilled in relationship building. They will be relentless in recruiting and retaining clients for our organization. The position will demand critical/creative thinking to develop and deliver applicable solutions to prospective and existing clients. Leads will be generated through the development of professional relationships, cold calling, community involvement, and internal referrals. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identifying prospects for business from existing and prospective clients
  • Maintaining a consistently strong and active new business pipeline
  • Developing new relationships with individuals responsible for insurance and risk management decisions at prospective clients.
  • Aggressively identifying and pursuing cross-selling opportunities amongst existing clients.
  • Obtaining referral leads from existing clients.
  • Participating and taking leadership roles in targeted civic and professional associations.
  • Designing individual prospect sales strategies and developing unique prospect programs.
  • Understanding our value proposition for each opportunity and aligning the firm’s resources and expertise with individual client sales strategies.
  • Maintaining consistent and high quality touch points with clients and prospects.
  • Providing proactive risk management advice to existing clients and resolving client issues before they become "problems".
  • Championing the proper advocacy of claims.
  • Contributing to the performance management and career development of team members. 

Required Competencies:

  • BS, BA or 5-10 years plus relevant work experience in insurance sales
  • Proven track record of successfully developing a pipeline, delivering effective sales strategies and a reputation as a client-centric sales professional.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of principles and methods of selling products; services and value propositions; sales marketing strategies and tactics; technical knowledge of insurance and risk management products, services, and value propositions; pipeline management; and cross-selling.
  • Ability to identify and leverage essential information and think in a critical and logical manner.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment where initiative and self-motivation are required, as is the ability to work in a client-centric strategic and decisive manner according to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to manage, direct and inspire others.
  • Excellent communication (written, verbal and oral) skills and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Ability and desire to work in a company with a strong corporate culture and varied personalities.
