We currently operate in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and Arizona. This will either be a level I or level II position, depending on experience. Responsibilities:The Underwriter I position is a key position that is responsible for assisting the organization to achieve its strategic goals and initiatives by successfully managing an assigned book of business. This position reports to a Personal Lines Territory Manager. Underwriting Services Provide world-class service to policyholders and agents through personal and responsive communication Efficiently manage workflow to ensure that underwriting cycle time meets the needs of policyholders and agents Ensure profitability of assigned lines of business through the new business, endorsement, and renewal underwriting process Adopt high-quality work standards that support the organization s quality service standards Maximize client satisfaction by participating in continuous improvement efforts Book of Business Management/Agency Management Assist agencies to grow profitably and develop market share Serve as an insurance expert to agency partners by exhibiting a mastery of underwriting standards, analytical techniques, methodologies, and book of business results-management. Develop and maintain constructive, informative, cooperative, and influential working relationships with assigned agencies. Collaborate with District Marketing Managers to ensure that effective, appropriate and timely communications occur involving bulletins and changes to underwriting practices involving the assigned product lines and books of business. Qualifications:1-3 years'experience in the property&casualty insurance industry Bachelor's or Associates'degree (or equivalent experience) Proficiency with personal computer systems and understanding of insurance industry software and technology applications. CPCU, CIC, and other insurance industry designation(s)/certification(s) preferred. Willingness and ability to set and adhere to high standards for job performance. Demonstrated ability to effectively support and collaborate with Underwriting, Product Development and Policy Services team members to achieve Business Unit results. Highly proficient organizational and time-management skills. Highly effective interpersonal, written/verbal/listening communication skills. Exhibit highly proficient"client"service and team interaction skills.
