Job Title: Vice President – E&S Property Underwriting Manager
Department: E&S Property

Reports To: President of Property Lines
SUMMARY This role requires the individual to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities. Under the direction of the President of Specialty Property, within a peer review underwriting environment, this role is responsible for the analysis, underwriting, quoting, binding, negotiating and servicing of property accounts within the E&S Property Business Unit. This role also ensures that underwriting policies and procedures are maintained, which results in a profitable business portfolio in accordance with underwriting guidelines and objectives.
CORE DUTIES
- Analyze and underwrite individual risks; develop appropriate limit structure, retention pricing and endorsements
- Provide strategy recommendations for new and renewal business based upon full underwriting knowledge including industry and competitor news and economic factors.
- Prepare account summaries, quotations and binders
- Travel for marketing calls and client meetings
OTHER DUTIES
- Work with underwriters and support staff to provide direction for all pre and post binding task including completion and assembly of all required underwriting documentation.
- Work with U/A’s to meet all company service objectives
- Support development of new underwriting products
- Maintain data integrity for underwriting systems
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong broker relationships and network
- Knowledge of Policy Forms and Endorsements
- Experience working with cat modeling (Risk Browser) and pricing models
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills (including EXCEL, Word and Outlook)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Candidate must be able to work within a team environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university
- 8+ years surplus lines property underwriting experience
