As the Director of Operations for our Property & Casualty Division, you will lead and perform a variety of management and operations functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages Commercial P&C Account Managers and Central Processing Unit servicing of clients
- Selects, trains, and develops an efficient and effective staff
- Manages the workflow and efficiency of the overall operations of the Commercial Lines P&C team, optimizing automation
- Directs and monitors training programs in support of Commercial Lines client retention and growth
- Develops, implements, and monitors account marketing strategies. Negotiates best available terms and conditions for appropriate premiums/service fees
- Ensures compliance with all marketing and support functions related to Alper Services' client service standards and procedures
- Manages relationships with insurance companies, wholesale and specialty markets
- Maintains relationships and provides feedback to Team Leaders and Account Executives regarding servicing of clients
- Other projects as assigned by President, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Continuing education in insurance courses and possession of designation in CIC, CPCU, ARM and/or equivalent is strongly desired
- Current Illinois Producer's License in Property & Casualty and Life & Health required
- Valid Illinois Driver's License
- Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in insurance operations, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of P&C Commercial brokerage business
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop employees
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as AMS system
- Thorough knowledge of automation, quality management, training methods and procedures
- High energy level
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
