Alper Services LLC, located in Chicago, IL, is a privately owned Insurance Broker and Consultant and is recognized as an industry leader with a long term client base and strong client relationships. We are currently seeking a Director of Employee Benefits who will oversee the workflow and supervise the staff of the Employee Benefits Division.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assignment of clients and prospects for services, renewal and marketing.
  • Direct supervision, mentoring, and training of Employee Benefits Division Account Managers and Account Assistant.
  • Meeting with potential partners such as insurance carriers, wellness vendors, and financial institutions.
  • Creating various reports on Employee Benefits block of business by revenue, new case sell, lost business, etc.
  • Collaborating with Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty producers on prospective clients.
  • Developing new business opportunities (cross-selling).
  • Assisting employers with plan elections and contribution strategies.
  • Claims assistance.
  • Conducting and constructing agenda for weekly Employee Benefits Division meetings.
  • Managing, troubleshooting, and researching solutions for software systems including AMS 360, HRConnection and Easy Apps.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Illinois Producer's License in Health and Life Insurance.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the employee benefits arena with an emphasis on group health benefits in the fully-insured and self-insured markets.  Working knowledge of ancillary product lines inclusive of dental, life, AD&D, vision, worksite benefits, and wellness programs.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation.
  • Excellent leadership, communications, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to successfully train and direct employees.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Solid understanding of brokerage process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to operate in a team environment.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills.
