Alper Services LLC, located in Chicago, IL, is a privately owned Insurance Broker and Consultant and is recognized as an industry leader with a long term client base and strong client relationships. We are currently seeking a Director of Employee Benefits who will oversee the workflow and supervise the staff of the Employee Benefits Division.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assignment of clients and prospects for services, renewal and marketing.
- Direct supervision, mentoring, and training of Employee Benefits Division Account Managers and Account Assistant.
- Meeting with potential partners such as insurance carriers, wellness vendors, and financial institutions.
- Creating various reports on Employee Benefits block of business by revenue, new case sell, lost business, etc.
- Collaborating with Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty producers on prospective clients.
- Developing new business opportunities (cross-selling).
- Assisting employers with plan elections and contribution strategies.
- Claims assistance.
- Conducting and constructing agenda for weekly Employee Benefits Division meetings.
- Managing, troubleshooting, and researching solutions for software systems including AMS 360, HRConnection and Easy Apps.
- Other projects as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Illinois Producer's License in Health and Life Insurance.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the employee benefits arena with an emphasis on group health benefits in the fully-insured and self-insured markets. Working knowledge of ancillary product lines inclusive of dental, life, AD&D, vision, worksite benefits, and wellness programs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation.
- Excellent leadership, communications, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to successfully train and direct employees.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
- Solid understanding of brokerage process.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to operate in a team environment.
- Exceptional multi-tasking skills.
