The Director of Global Credit has responsibility for all credit, collections and accounts receivable operations for Quad/Graphics to effectively manage credit risk. This role establishes strategic and collaborative methods of increasing cash flow, reducing bad debt and increasing profitable sales volume while maintaining a strong financial control environment. Further this role establishes Quad/Graphics credit policy and procedures and provides leadership and guidance in the application of same, while working effectively with process/functional leaders within the organization to identify and develop innovative business process improvement opportunities related to the cash conversion cycle. This role requires a seasoned credit professional who is well grounded in the legal aspects of commercial transactions and bankruptcies, has a thorough understanding of finance and a process improvement mindset. Additionally important is the building of strong relationships with major customers, resolving disputes and ensuring customer satisfaction and security.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESFormulate corporate credit policies and establish general financial control policies and standard procedures and practices to govern overall credit operations on a global basis. Work with individual divisions to optimize profitable sales while minimizing bad debt and maximizing cash flow. Ongoing review of cash conversion cycle, working with other departments, for continuous improvement. Establish goals and monitor key metrics, analysis and reporting, to include but not limited to variance analysis, bad debt analysis, cash forecast and working capital. Manage integration (or divestiture process) for Account Receivable in M&A process. Perform managerial responsibilities which may include but not limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning; assigning and directing work/projects; performance management and department budget. Provide direction/oversight in handling legal actions and bankruptcies, to include working with internal and external counsel as well as collection agencies. Establish relationships with key customers, including in person meetings as needed, for financial assessment and maximizing communication. Ensure compliance with financial controls and the Sarbanes-Oxley processes. Lead continuous improvement, including: processes, systems, and outside support targeted to improve collection efficiencies thus reducing risk, improving cash flow and cutting costs. Oversight of postage liability as it relates to customers: managing potential risk and process. Working with other departments for continuous improvement and potential to further improve impact to cash flow. Perform all other duties and projects assigned by management. QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or related degree. Minimum of 15 years of combined experience in finance, credit and collections with at least 3 years' experience in an executive credit leadership role. Knowledge/experience in legal aspects of credit for multi-industry customers (bankruptcy, secured transactions, international and commercial regulations). Print industry experience preferred, but not required. CCE - NACM Certified Credit Executive preferred, but not required. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong negotiation skills balanced with strong customer service skills. Judgment and decision making capability. Solid understanding of legal/compliance aspects of credit both domestic and international. Demonstrated experience in driving and managing change within an organization and multiple shifting priorities Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts, procedures and techniques. Solid leadership skills to include: setting objectives, monitoring performance and communicating feedback on a regular basis. Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office Suite but the ability to pick up new systems quickly.
