Senior Claims Administrator

Position Summary: Responsible for managing exceptional and complex claims including investigation, payment determination and payment processing around general liability, auto liability and property damage. Responsible for interviewing claimant and witnesses, reviewing relevant records, and valuing property damage to determine the extent of the company's liability. May provide training, coaching and guidance to insurance claims adjusters. Responsibilities & Qualifications: * Investigate claims by interviewing claimant, employer and witnesses. * Determine compensability and total value of claim. * Maintain adequate reserves for life of claim. * Convey positive attitude and team spirit for optimum provision of services to customers. * Attend client meetings as necessary. * Determine subrogation potential and pursue recovery where applicable. * Maintain acceptable claim closure ratio. * Negotiate settlement of claim if warranted. Education / Work Experience Required: * Bachelor's degree, or four or more years of equivalent work experience * 4+ years of experience in an adjuster role, demonstrating ability to manage simple to complex claims * Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously * Proven critical thinking skills that demonstrate analysis/judgment and sound decision making with focus on attention to details * Excellent communication skills both verbal and written * Great customer service skills * Computer literacy, including MS Office, Word, Excel The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
