Chief Operating Officer - Texas


Profitable and growing Property and Casualty Insurance company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer for their Texas operation.  The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of business operations which includes claims, underwriting and general operations.

Candidates will be responsible for analyzing business operations for the purpose of developing best practices and more efficient methodologies.  This would include process improvement and efficiency analytics for the purpose of meeting company goals and objectives in claims, underwriting, auditing and operations.  A strong underwriting background is required for this position, as well as proficiency managing the other disciplines of claims and operations.  You will utilize your general management and analytics skills in this broad reaching managerial position.

Candidates will also provide project management support to various initiatives by work measurement and metrics reporting support, as well as manage projects that encompass both short and long term business planning. You may develop expense forecasts and operating budgets and track revenue factors for an operations organization. Will perform cost benefit analysis for re-engineering and technology initiatives, identifies expense reduction opportunities, and recommends appropriate staffing levels. Recommend and implements metrics to track, how to measure, and the method in which data is tracked, stored and reported.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years in underwriting and operations management in a Property & Casualty Insurance carrier or MGA setting.
  • Must have experience in  personal non-standard auto
  • A minimum of  7 years' experience in management of underwriting, auditing and general operations.
  • Proven track record for results in operational efficiency initiatives and projects
  • Manager of managers experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work with multiple departments
  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Insurance designations are a plus
