IAT has an immediate opening for Product Manager in our Raleigh, NC location that will oversee the Property Product Line of Business. This position is responsible for maintaining product currency for existing products, the profitability of assigned lines of business and for the development and implementation of new products. Furthermore, this role will participate in the rate review process, develops new products and services, and maintains the profitability and growth for various states. This role will also function as the coverage expert for responsible line(s) of business, collaborate with business units on new product development that includes changes to existing forms, and complete filing packages delivered to regulatory in a timely manner in order to meet implementation timeframes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluates ISO changes, understands impact to IAT and communicates impact of ISO changes to appropriate areas of the organization.
- Collaborates with appropriate business leaders to define strategy in response to ISO changes.
- Works collaboratively with IT and Regulatory to effectively implement agreed upon changes.
- Maintains forms library, rates and rating manuals for use by business units.
- Understands drivers of line performance/profitability.
- Collaborates with claim product line leads to understand claim issues and trends.
- Collaborates with Actuarial on base rate needs by line of business. Leads the coordination of base rate management decision making process across the organization.
- Collaborates with business units on appropriate line strategy based on profitability of the line.
- Utilizes industry services such as A.M Best, Conning, etc. to monitor industry dynamics and trends.
- Collaborates with business units on new product development and implements the new product.
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, business administration, communications, economics, finance, liberal arts (with business focus), management, marketing, risk management, or sales or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Equivalent experience is defined as a minimum of 5 years of commercial product management experience.
- Must have at least 5 years of Property Underwriting Experience.
- Experience managing Catastrophe Exposure across a Property Book of Business.
- Catastrophe modeling experience preferred.
- CPCU, ARM, or AU industry designations preferred.
- Good knowledge of how coverage applies with the insurance products we sell.
- Good knowledge of actuarial concepts and pricing approaches.
- Solid knowledge of management information used throughout the organization.
- Good project management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to influence cross functional teams without formal authority. Ability to problem solve and make recommendations.
