Mortgage Insurance Claims Specialist Position Overview This position will maintain the quality and accuracy of loan servicing data, driving the customer (borrower, investor, payee and internal customer) experience with loans under service with RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing, and minimizing the risk of damage and loss by maintaining timely and accurate claim filing and default reporting. Working Relationships The Claims Specialist reports to the Claims Manager; must develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders, vendors, investors, co-workers, and customers. Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Performs a variety of activities to maximize the recovery of losses and incentives through timely and accurate filing of mortgage insurance and investor claims Responsible for compiling claim packages, filing claims for loss with the investor/insurer to receive reimbursement funds after a loan is foreclosed, and filing incentive claims when loss mitigation actions are complete Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors, business unit representatives, and coworkers to obtain documentation/information needed for claim filing Work with vendor to provide required documentation for claim filing, as well as filing/imaging of documents received Research and resolve issues (mortgage insurance carrier guidelines, default reporting, prior servicer actions) Prepare daily task reports, exception reports, and review/validate pipeline reports Ensure accuracy and timeliness of claim filing for loss and incentives Identify trends affecting efficiency, quality, and accuracy of claims/default reporting administration processes and recommend action plans to improve future performance Identify potential issues or concerns and participate in a solution; including recommending and developing new policies and procedures Assist in the completion of special projects and seasonal projects; such as year-end reporting Perform all duties in accordance with RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing policies and procedures, investor requirements, and all state and federal regulations Other duties will be assigned as needed by Claims Manager Incumbent will be responsible for meeting RoundPoint s commitment to compliance Minimum Requirements: *RP Two or more years mortgage servicing experience preferred, one or more of which must be in claims administration or default servicing Bachelor's degree required, but commensurate work experience will be considered Thorough knowledge of mortgage servicing documents and processes, particularly those related to claims administration and default servicing Experience with HUD, VA, FNMA, and private investor/insurer requirements preferred Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of people (customers, co-workers, vendors)in various situations
