PRIMARY PURPOSE: Responsible for providing effective leadership in order to meet the claim service needs of our customers, leading and coaching.   This entails communicating clearly the corporate and claim department goals and objectives as they relate to the office and team and by creating an environment which supports and motivates the claim team members to develop expert technical and interpersonal skills. The candidate will exude leadership and an environment that's created to ensure high levels of functional expertise and customer service. Mentoring skills should allow the maximum opportunity for development, career growth, and job satisfaction.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Insurance claims supervisor leads a team of auto physical damage, collision and light injury claims representatives and makes sure that they deal with insurance claims efficiently. As a claims supervisor, you would handle the workflows, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team, deal with customer complaints and appeals, and vendor relationships such as body shops, glass, rental, salvage & related metrics.

  • To work in this role, you will need to be able to motivate and lead a team. You will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to work well under pressure.
  • Revises case reserves in assigned claims files to cover probable costs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the organization's quality program(s).
  • Mentors and coaches claims personnel as needed.
  • Travels as required.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Manager position and requires commercial and/or personal lines experience at a carrier and/or TPA and/or QA experience
  • Excellent customer service and effective communication skills
  • Prior leadership and supervisory experience
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume, responsive environment
  • A consistent, high level of performance and achievement over career span
  • Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required at a carrier and/or TPA.

Licensing
Insurance licenses in multiple states is a plus. CA Independent Adjuster
