THE OPPORTUNITY: Mutual Trust Life Insurance Company is looking to hire a Business Analyst Supervisor with strong technical expertise and the ability to be the subject matter expert, well versed in the policies and procedures of the Company.
Our Business Analyst Supervisor serves as a liaison between the programming resources for illustrations and administration, as well as the requesting business units and works to translate complex and varied business needs into application software requirements. The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the business analyst functions of the application software which includes complex changes to the business rules, help screens, rate utility, reports, and the creation/coordination of installation packages and patches. The Supervisor has primary responsibility for maintaining department workflow and quality control, and may function as the main point of contact for the department in the absence of the manager, including answering questions and providing direction to the members of the department and others outside the department.
DAY-TO DAY-ACTIVITES:
The Business Analyst Supervisor performs all of the functions of the Business Analyst, in addition to, but not limited to, the following:
- Provides direction as needed to the business analyst team to create enterprise business solutions
- Ensures business requirements for applications are in compliance with enterprise architecture
- In conjunction with the Vice President, Applications Development, helps insure that department goals and objectives are aligned to strategic plans
- Identifies and resolves gaps in skills, processes, and resources
- Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, mentors, and monitors progress of the team
- Works with stakeholders and functional areas to develop business requirements
- Develops guidelines for capturing business requirements
- Must strike a balance between project hours and customer system support

YOUR PROFILE:
- Proven ability to train, teach, and coach others and a commitment to improving those skills
- Must be able to effectively prioritize and assign work in order to meet deadlines
- Undergraduate degree in applicable field, such as mathematics or computer science
- Completion of the Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI) designation, or are working towards completion
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of and experience with life insurance calculations supporting all aspects of the policy life cycle
- Proven in-depth knowledge of Excel formulas and multiple worksheets within the workbook
- Proven ability to create business requirements, business processes, and project plans
- Experience in defining detailed business requirements to support strategic and/or tactical projects
- Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Visual Basic, Visual C++, Access/SQL/other databases and query tools, or other related languages as required for various projects
- Proven excellent mathematical aptitude and strong analytical skills
