CopperPoint Insurance Companies is seeking qualified candidates for an Operations Representative. The Operations Representative performs routine but varied clerical duties in accordance with standard procedures.  The Operations Representative applies knowledge of department policies and procedures, and utilizes a general knowledge of other department’s functions.  This position maintains records, prepares forms, verifies information, resolves routine problems, and provides basic data entry support for the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs mail distribution functions; prepares incoming mail for processing (organizing documentation), distribution, and indexing (data entry)
  • Operates the inserter machine, opens mail for prepping, provides assistance to vendors and internal customers with mail related questions, and signs for packages
  • Assist with processing policies, OCR, file mail, and scanning
  • Responsible for certificate issuance and processing
  • Responsible for the analysis, processing and reviewing of mail audit worksheets for classification, rates and applicable policy provisions. Also, to evaluate, sort and, when necessary, escalate to the next level of authority on all applicable policies
  • Processes incoming and outgoing electronic faxes (document review and data entry)
  • Data entry of payroll reports, statements, credit card information, and other related documentation (received via fax or mail)
  • Researches and resolves source document exceptions regarding policyholder account information
  • Legal file prepping
  • Department tasks (return mail processing, various proprietary system task assistance, etc.)
  • Check opening and processing

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED required
  • One year or more of prior P & C insurance industry experience a plus
  • Experience with other lines of business i.e. Property, General Liability, Umbrella, and Auto considered a plus
  • Ability to use a personal computer numeric key pad to accurately input numeric data listed on the policyholder's data form
  • Basic math, analytic, and accounting (Accounts Receivable) skills to properly process the policyholder’s premium payments
  • Intermediate personal computer skills to efficiently navigate the Intranet, Internet, scanning, and company specific applications relating to accounts payable check writing and Microsoft Office applications [Word, Excel, PowerPoint]
  • Basic to intermediate problem solving skills to effectively resolve issues that arise in some policyholder's data
  • Ability to provide quality customer service and effectively present information
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, time management, and perform multi-tasking
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and business partners (and on occasion policyholders)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
