New Business Marketer

New Business Marketer - Position Summary :

This position is responsible for marketing new and renewal insurance applications to carriers in alignment with agency goals, commitments, and guidelines of programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

-New & renewal business marketing with automated carriers or company “rollover” business.

-Review all applications received from producers the day received and note any deficiencies.

-Determine appropriate market(s), considering producer’s guidance (if provided), and transmit to carriers appropriately.

-Track quotations received from carriers and follow-up with markets to receive quotes within desired timeline based on the need by date.

-Review quotes for differences from specs, terms, conditions, and provide quotes to agent.

-Advise producers of status as quotations and declinations are received.

-Rates automated carriers on computer and appropriately enters documentation regarding premium credits.

-Bind/issue order to carrier(s).

-Responsible for transmitting endorsements to automated carriers.

-Meet with company personnel to remain updated on products, authority, and competitive niches.

-Communicate with Mahoney Group management and producer/CSR staff.

-Maintain company manuals and carrier specific supplies.

-Maintain monthly submission logs.

-Check monthly expiration logs to see if surplus lines can qualify for standard business.

-Provide pricing documentation in underwriting file, as subject to Department of Insurance Audits.

-Process internal correspondence as requested ensuring activities and follow-ups are set; and the client file in the agency management systems are updated and consistent with the paper files.

-Follow agency Standard of Excellence and Best Practices procedures.

-Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED; and 2-5 years of experience in Commercial Lines as a rater, underwriter, CSR, small account sales and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Insurance agency experience and sales experience is preferred. Past experience should include commercial lines coverages, exclusions, policy enhancements, terminology, bonds, sales, rating programs, marketing, underwriting, and other related insurance experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

State specific P & C insurance licenses . CISR, CIC, or other insurance professional designations preferred, but not required.
