POSITION OVERVIEW: Part of the Insurance Product Operations and Analytics team, the Business Analyst position adds depth and capacity to Gulfstream’s multi-state personal residential insurance programs. This position will enjoy a small-company feel, a terrific work environment, and a generous benefits package.
LOCATION: Lakewood Ranch corporate park (Sarasota, FL)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Works closely with the Director of Business Analysis on a variety of multi-state implementation projects and supports existing program needs, including, enhancements, bug fixes, training, etc.
- May align daily with vendors to clearly communicate Gulfstream needs and ensure proper resolution.
- Interacts regularly with internal business units to identify system needs and also communicates pending system changes.
- Conducts coordination of system solutions for enhancement of business unit and end-user workflows.
- Aids in requirements gathering and documentation, review of project scope and specifications, and conducts user acceptance testing to ensure expected product delivery.
- Aids in quantification of business decision impacts using available data resources.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Technical competencies:
- Personal residential insurance knowledge.
- Fluent familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office package (Access, Excel, Word).
- Experienced knowledge of reporting tools and databases, strong knowledge of business information data sources and business data rules.
- Experience with Guidewire preferred.
- Conceptual knowledge of enterprise technology and architecture.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS
- Minimum 5 years of Business Analysis or System Analyst experience with property & casualty insurer, MGA, or similar organization.
- Excellent knowledge of the P&C business and familiarity with a broad spectrum of Insurance applications.
- Understanding of underwriting processes including the policy lifecycle, coverages, rating, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Background or acquaintance with underwriting, customer service, and/or agency workflows;
- Process improvement experience.
- Guidewire systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time and extensive work on computer and electronic communication.
- Position may require occasional overnight auto/air travel.
