This Construction Defect Adjuster will be responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation and resolution of construction defect claims.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this position will include coverage analysis and drafting coverage position letters, litigation management, including the supervision of defense and coverage attorneys and construction litigation experts, and analysis of co-insurer obligations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as well as exceptional customer service habits. The successful candidate will have a high level of technical expertise unique to construction defect claims. This will include familiarity with continuous-trigger third-party property damage claims, applicable case law and jurisdictional statutes, additional insured endorsement issues, shared legal defense, large loss reporting and multiple insurer allocation issues. The successful candidate will be able to maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, other insurance claims professionals, legal professionals, as well as experts and other vendors, despite differing perspectives and opinions. These position requires excellent time management and organizational skills. Other specialized skills / requirements: The successful candidate will have strong computer skills and be readily familiar with common software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Experience:

Work experience in both a carrier and claims administrator environment is a plus. Experience acting as a technical resource, supervisor or mentor to other claims professionals is preferred. Experience analyzing coverage under standard and manuscript commercial general liability coverage forms is required. Strong negotiation skills and experience participating in mediations and settlement conferences is required. This position requires an individual with a minimum of two years construction defect claim handling experience.

Education:

Education/Licensing High School Diploma – college degree preferred Must possess or be willing to obtain various state adjuster licenses, including but not limited to CA, NV, AZ, OR, WA, FL,TX
