POSITION PURPOSE
The Data Warehouse (DW) Developer is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert for specific areas of development in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (BI) Team Services.  This position focuses on the design, development, and delivery of business intelligence solutions including: dashboards, scorecards, reports, user interfaces, and associated database design and data structures using Microsoft technology, applications and tools.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience as a database developer designing and developing data architecture solutions with more than 3+ years specializing in data architecture or data analytics.
  • A broad set of technical skills and knowledge across infrastructure, applications, databases, and solutions development and with expertise in more than one technical domain.
  • Experience in business requirements gathering, analysis, data solution architecture, data modeling and design, development and implementation.
  • Strong, in-depth experience in data modeling and experience with business intelligence systems (dimensional modeling, data mining, predictive analytics).
  • Hands on experience in the design of successful large business data analytics solutions.
  • Knowledge of Kimball data warehousing principles.   
  • Ability to recognize and implement common data patterns and best practices.
  • Ability to use Rapid Application Development (RAD) and Agile process methods.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the T-SQL language.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in SSIS (preferably 2012 and later).
  • Programming in .NET environments and integrating reports and Dashboard with SharePoint based portals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server tools: SSMS, Reporting Services (SSRS), Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Profiler.
  • Solid database administration skills using SQL Server.
  • Enterprise Business Intelligence and Analytics reporting platforms (e.g., SAP Business Objects, Oracle OBIEE, Tableau etc.)
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills; Strong written and oral communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Prior experience in P&C Insurance industry along with business knowledge of Policies, Underwriting, Rating, Claims, Billing etc. would be plus.

 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Leads small projects that design and deliver data models, Analysis Services/OLAP cubes, and other data structures such as ODS, data marts, and data warehouse databases in response to business requirements.
  • Develops solutions on data migration, data mapping, and data interface development activities.
  • Attains knowledge of data warehouse architecture and practices Lean/Agile development methods and techniques.
  • Attains knowledge of the data warehouse, data mart models and the business information maintained.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Business Intelligence based Tools, Services and Support (SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Excel pivot tables, Power Pivot etc.) for DW solutions.
  • Develops complex Stored Procedures and SSIS packages to support ETLs and Reporting.
  • Designs and develops reports, dashboards and KPIs.
