Underwriter- Production - Commercial Property

Overview

NSM Insurance Group is looking for a Production Underwriter for our Coastal Condominium Property program here in Conshohocken, PA! This Underwriter will be responsible for daily contact with agents discussing risks negotiating on pricing, coverage, acceptability and providing or requesting information. This individual will be responsible for maintaining and growing a book of business within the coastal property market. 

Responsibilities

• Generating, underwriting and analyzing of accounts.
• Risk selection by qualifying leads and identifying target market.
• Communication with brokers for new and renewal business.
• Pricing and issuance of multiples quotes with selected markets.
• Development and maintenance of strong broker relationships including visitation.
• Thorough documentation of underwriting file.
• Monitors claims activity and reporting.
• Work closely with Manager in negotiation and handling of larger accounts.
• Preparation of thorough and succinct referral to supervisor or company.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to develop and maintain strong broker relationships.
• Proven track record of successful sales/production experience.
• Strong analytical skills & attention to detail.
• Ability to travel to broker visits/ events when needed
• Ability to negotiate, influence and close deals.
• Ability to work independently and possess excellent organizational/time management skills.
• Great interpersonal & team building skills.

Education/Experience :

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• At least 3 years of commercial property underwriting experience.
• Computer Skills: Individual should be proficient using internet software, and Microsoft applications including Word and Excel. Must have the ability to learn and use insurance industry software.
