We have an opening for a Medical Bill Invoice Review Specialist to support the workers compensation division. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into the insurance industry.
General Summary:
To provide claims administrative support and to ensure accurate and timely payment of medical expense related invoices and to provide superior customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Process medical invoices, mileage, prescription, attorney and other vendor invoices to result in accurate and timely payment.
1. Review claim numbers to ensure that they are correct for each invoice received.
2. Verify that expenses and services rendered are accurate.
3. Review invoices for approval; ask appropriate questions of Case & Claims Management Team Members.
4. Accurately enter payments into computer system.
5. Maintain knowledge of current reimbursement rates and rules, and utilize knowledge in appropriate reimbursement payment.
6. Scan and catalog invoices.
7. Release checks for printing.
B. Act as a liaison between Case & Claims Management Team,/Medical Cost Management Team and Information Systems on issues as they occur.
1. Determine appropriate response to Case & Claims Management Team suggestions.
2. Answer questions and handle any inquiries from Case & Claims Management Teams.
C. Actively participate in overall company and team efficient operations.

Qualifications:
Minimum Experience / Education:
High School Diploma. Post secondary experience preferred.
Experience:
One year of administrative/medical experience. Claims processing experience preferred. Prior medical experience, knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of: Basic accounting, SA policies and procedures, basic insurance terminology, legal and medical terminology, SA’s computer software packages, basic workers’ compensation law and statutory requirements.
Skilled in:
Data entry, computer proficiency, written and verbal communication, basic math skills.
Behavioral Skills:
Abilities:
Flexibility, customer focus, creativity, innovation, self-direction and continuous learning. Maintain reasonable and predictable work attendance.
Skilled in:
