Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Research and document workers’ compensation bill review laws and guidelines in all 50 states, plus MCO, HCP compliance, pre-authorization and utilization review guidelines
  • Demonstrates competence in abstracting requirements by analyzing and interpreting medical information on medical records, UB-92s, and 1500 forms
  • Demonstrates competence in coding requirements by analyzing and interpreting medical information so that accuracy rate for coding bills will be 95% or above
  • Provide recommendations for claim handling and resolution
  • Review claims for quality assurance

Requirements:

  • Certification through AAPC or CCA and at least three years of medical coding experience
  • Trained in ICD10

  • Workers’ Compensation experience
  • Fee Schedule knowledge
  • Pre-Authorizations/Utilization Review experience
  • Medicare experience
