Risk Improvement Representative-Loss Control                              
New England Territory    

EMC Insurance Companies

Responsibilities:                                                                   
*  Completes on-site loss control surveys of policyholder operations and            
   prepares reports by utilizing the risk improvement report program                
*  On-site visit will include an assessment of the hazard potential, along          
   with the communication of loss control services available to policyholders       
   and agents in the New England Territory                                          
*  Develops recommendations for policyholders to control hazards and to             
   prevent or reduce exposure to insured losses                                     
*  Holds an in-person conference/consultation with policyholders after each         
   survey to discuss operations, claims trends, and recommendations for             
   improvements, as they relate to insured coverage                                 
*  Reviews, manages, plans, schedules, and prioritizes survey and service           
   workload and backlog in designated territory                                     
*  Identifies and selects accounts with branch management and underwriting to       
   designate as service accounts                                                    

Qualifications:                                                                     
*  Bachelor's degree in business, safety, engineering, industrial safety, fire      
   protection, or related science field is required                                 
*  Designation of certified safety professional, associate in risk management       
   occupational health and safety technologist, professional engineer, CPCU,        
   or other nationally recognized safety or risk management designation             
   desirable                                                                        
*  Working knowledge of industrial, construction, fire, and commercial              
   automotive safety is required                                                    
*  Good understanding of various nationally recognized standards and codes          
   including, but not limited to, OSHA, DOT, and NFPA needed                        
*  Must possess the ability to identify and visualize potential loss exposure       
*  Excellent customer relation skills, strong verbal and written communication      
*  Prefer some work experience in insurance loss control                            
*  Regular overnight travel within assigned territory required, valid driver's      
   license with acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required
