Claims Examiner - Homeowner's Insurance

The Claims Examiner will be responsible for reviewing and examining homeowner property claims submitted to Florida Peninsula Insurance by claim adjusters from several independent adjusting firms.

Duties include:

• Determines that the claim investigation is accordance with Company guidelines and supports the coverage recommendation.
• Reviews claims to ensure quality claim handling and all documentation has been provided prior to closing of claim.
• Proof-reads letters and reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Approves settlement and prepares claim file for payment.
• Communicates with the adjusters when further claim investigation is necessary or claim file documentation needs further information.
• Responds to requests from adjusters and assists them with questions pertaining to claim handling procedures and coverage.
• Handles customer claim inquiries and responds to correspondence received.
• Works closely others within the claims department and Florida Peninsula Insurance.

Requirements:

• High School diploma required.  College degree preferred.
• Must have an active Florida adjuster’s license.
• Five (5) years of homeowner’s 1^st party claims adjusting experience required; field experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be proficient with Xactimate and have strong skills with Microsoft Office, including Word & Excel.
• Must be detailed oriented, organized, and have a passion for excellence.

The Claim Examiner is a full-time, salaried, employee position that will work in our office at Boca Raton, FL.
